LABIA MAJORA FAT INJECTIONS
Many women seek enhancement of the labia majora via autologous fat transfer because they want to improve the contour of their labia majora by increasing the size, enhancing the shape, correct an asymmetry, and improve firmness. Women often experience deflation and hanging of the labia majora with age and pregnancy. They may have just developed with one larger or more droopy than the other as well. Both scenarios are quite common.
HOW DOES A LABIA MAJORA FAT INJECTION PROCEDURE WORK?
Typically performed on an outpatient basis, autologous fat transfer to the labia majora can be done in conjunction with a labiaplasty procedure involving reduction of the labia minora, or a labia majora inner wedge resection.
During this surgery, a mixture of local anesthetic and adrenaline called tumescent fluid is made. This fluid is inserted into the treated area through tiny access points. It helps numb the treated area and controls bleeding. The fat is then suctioned out through a blunt tubular instrument called a cannula and is prepared for reinjection into the labia majora.
The fat from this liposuction procedure is collected (it could be from the mons pubis, inner thigh, or elsewhere on the body that you want slimmed), processed and washed, and then placed into a syringe. The syringe is attached to a small, blunt tipped cannula which is then used to inject the fat into the labia majora to plump it back up and give a youthful and enhanced look.
Please let us know if you are interested in this procedure as an adjunct to labiaplasty or as a stand-alone. We also offer off-the-shelf synthetic fillers like Juvederm and Restylane which can help plump the outer lips as well if no surgery is planned.
